Passionately Casual Podcast Ep. 27: “Five Point …. Oh My”
Passionately Casual Podcast Ep. 27: “Five Point …. Oh My” is a SWTOR Podcast for Unholy Alliance and Wookiee Mistake guilds on the Harbinger server. Our podcast is a proud member of MOG Nation!
This week we’re joined again by one strange individual who legitimately records podcasts from her pillow fort studio because it helps with acoustics (that’s right, we’re talking about Jessie. You remember her, she’s the giggly one.)
We have buckets of news to talk about this episode given the release of the Knights of the Eternal Throne expansion, so stay tuned!
Given the time of year, WOG is officially on hold until January with a start date to be announced. Stay tuned to this podcast and to the guild website for more info.
JT is starting up some weekly fun nights, so check in with him for details, but it will most likely involve heroics, flashpoints, uprisings etc. You know how he rolls -good times between friends. There may even be the odd SM operation if enough people show up!
We touch briefly on what everyone’s been up to since KotET has dropped, and Jessie insisted on talking about her new Oricon Gothic headpiece (which Sechari think looks like bat ears).
And then we dive into discussion about the expansion! We talk about the environments, the play styles, the puzzles, how salty we are about the Harbinger’s Dark vs. Light mechanic being completely light side central these days, the Galactic Command system, the 90% gold-mob nerf (okay, 80% after the update coming Tuesday, Dec. 13), the instability on the Harbinger server, (we told you we had a lot to discuss this episode), and more.
In Character With Larry Everett
This week we introduce a new segment that Sechari was hoping to title “Silly Songs with Larry”, but it didn’t work out that way. Larry discusses how this expansion is different to other expansions from an RP perspective, and how to play from the perspective of your character going through the story. He also has some tips to handling the expansion changes, and a tip or two for guildmasters.

Jessie ignites a firestorm when she brings up the whole #beardvsbun war going on between Boomy, whom we have had on as a guest in previous episodes (@BoomyNation) and Sechari. Find the poll results (and the winner of the war) here.
Follow the timeline for the Star Wars movies coming out over the next few years at Johnnyetc.net here. Later in the show, we see how Jessie would have benefited from reviewing this, as she mixes up Rogue One and Episode VIII.
Star Wars News
Rogue One is the message of the day with just over a week to go at the time of recording! Check out the Definitive Guide to All the Trailers and TV Spots.
JT offers a few tips for how to maximize your enjoyment of the movie:
- Read the Catalyst background story for Rogue One.
- Purchase release day/weekend movie tickets. Try an early afternoon on Friday timeslot to avoid some crowds.
- Lay out your favorite Star Wars apparel for the movie, but don’t wear Rogue One clothes. Seriously. Don’t be that guy.
- Get to the theater early to lay claim to the best seat in the house! (Camp out if you have to). Make sure you have all your snacks and beverages before it starts.
- Now just sit back and enjoy the latest adventure in the Star Wars galaxy without the iconic movie text crawl #SadFace (yes, you read that right. Kudos to The Usual Podcast ep. 80 for bringing it to our attention).
